Moped rider seriously injured in hit-and-run crash

Colorado Springs police are looking for the suspect vehicle in a hit-and-run crash that seriously injured a Moped rider Monday night.

The crash happened at the intersection of Academy Blvd. and Astrozon Blvd. around 9 p.m. Police say the suspect vehicle was making a turn and hit the Moped rider as the rider was traveling through the intersection. The suspect vehicle left the scene of the accident before police arrived.

The victim suffered serious, but non-life threatening injures.

The intersection of Academy Blvd. and Astrozon Blvd. was largely closed for a couple hours while the Major Accident Unit investigated the crash. It opened around 11:30 Monday night.
