Highway 24 back open between Cascade and Manitou Springs

Highway 24 was briefly closed between Cascade and Manitou Springs Sunday.

The Colorado Department of Transportation closed the highway for about one hour because of the threat of flash flooding.

The road was closed around 4:45 p.m. Sunday evening.

Stormtracker 13 meteorologist Jay Polk is tracking strong storms in Teller County and a flash flood advisory is in effect in El Paso County until 6 p.m.
