Driver slams into median, closes interstate for two hours

A single-car wreck on Interstate 25 through Pueblo Sunday closed the northbound lanes for around two hours.

Pueblo police said the rollover happened around 1:30 p.m. near the 6th Street exit.

Investigators found that Bryan Whitten, 44, lost control of his Ford Excursion and went off the right side of the road. He over corrected the SUV and drove into the center median.

The interstate was shut down to allow officers to complete the investigation. Speed and alcohol are being looked at as factors in the crash.

Whitten suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
