Rise in heroin overdoses alarms police

For the second time this summer, Pueblo police are warning about an alarming rise in the number of heroin overdoses in the city.

Twelve people have overdosed on heroin in Pueblo over the past three months

In July, police warned of three overdoses, including one fatality, that investigators thought could be linked to a batch of heroin in the community that was somehow tainted.

A total of six heroin related deaths have been reported in Pueblo so far in 2013.

Police urge anyone who is struggling with drug addiction to seek treatment.
