Man killed by train, apparent suicide

El Paso County officials confirmed Wednesday (8/28/13) morning a man was killed by a train late Tuesday night.

Lt. Jeff Kramer with the El Paso Conty Sheriff’s office said a young male was found dead shortly after 11:35 p.m. Tuesday.

He said a train conductor called in saying he thought the train hit a person near Park Trail Drive and Blizzard Trail Head.

Lt. Kramer said they are working to identify the man killed and also working to figure out why he was on the tracks.

Lt. Kramer said the train is owned at BNSF Railways. They also have an investigator in the scene.

Lt. Kramer said this is being investigated as an apparent suicide.
