Report: Woman missing since flash flood located, is safe

Witnesses say one minute she was clinging to a tree, the next minute she was gone.

Our partners at KMGHalong with other media outlets reported Monday that the third and final person reported missing after Friday’s flash flood in Manitou Springs has been located.

The unidentified woman is reportedly recovering at Penrose Hospital in Colorado Springs.

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office tells KRDO NewsChannel 13 that it has not confirmed with certainty that the woman has been located.

Penrose Hospital tells KMGH that the woman will speak at a 3 p.m. news conference.

Two other people who were reported missing have been found safe.

One person was killed in the flash flood, which also destroyed six houses and damaged more than 30 others in an area burned by the Waldo Canyon Fire last year.
