Teen jogger says man tried to kidnap her

A 14-year-old girl says a man tried to kidnap her in Pueblo Monday evening.

The teen was jogging near the intersection of 30th Street and Colfax Avenue around 7:30 p.m. when the incident happened.

Police say the girl noticed a white car with four men inside approaching her. She says one of the men got out of the car and started chasing her.

The teen was able to outrun the man. She hid behind Morton Elementary School until the white car drove away.

The man who chased the teen is described as being in his late teens or twenties. He was wearing all gray clothing, and a gray ball cap with red writing or embroidery.

The white car is described as a 4-door compact, possibly a Toyota Corolla. The victim told police the car had black scuff marks on its right side.

Anyone with information about this attempted kidnapping is urged to call Pueblo Police at 719-553-2502 or Pueblo Crime Stoppers at 719-542-STOP (542-7867).
