2 people shot dead at Pa. municipal building

A Pennsylvania newspaper reporter who was at a municipal building meeting at which a gunman killed two people says he saw smoke and plaster flying as gunshots tore holes in the walls.

Pocono Record reporter Chris Reber says a local official bear-hugged the shooter and shot him with his own gun.

Reber says he ran out after the first round of shooting Monday night. He says he and everyone else at the Ross Township supervisors meeting dropped to the floor.

He says a man was shot after he pushed aside a woman who had run to a door. He says a local official took down the shooter.

State police in Lehighton confirm the gunman has been captured but don’t have details.

Monroe County emergency management director Guy Miller says three other people were hurt.
