Brothers Plead Guilty in Bar Killings

Two brothers accused of killing five people at a Denver bar last year have reached plea deals with prosecutors.

Twenty-seven-year-old Joseph Hill pleaded guilty Tuesday to five counts of first-degree murder and will be sentenced to life in prison in October.

Twenty-five-year-old Lynell Hill pleaded guilty to one count of second-degree murder naming all five victims, aggravated robbery and first-degree arson. His plea agreement stipulates a 70-year prison term.

A third man, 23-year-old Dexter Lewis, is also charged in the fatal stabbings and cover-up fire in October. The Denver Postreports prosecutors have until Friday to decide whether Lewis could face the death penalty.

The three were accused of killing the bar’s owner and four others as part of a robbery.
