Highway 24 near Cave of the Winds briefly closed due to wreck
Highway 24 was briefly closed due to an accident involving a tractor-trailer according to the Colorado Springs Police Department.
The road was closed at 8:58 p.m. It reopened approximately 20 minutes later when it was discovered there was no fuel spill and no need for hazmat cleanup.
At the same time, spotters raised concerns about the potential for flash floods in the area. They saw water and small rocks on the road near Cascade.
CDOT crews and law enforcement will continue to monitor Ute Pass.
