Powers closed for hours following crash tied to armed robbery
Police blame a robbery suspect for a crash at Powers Boulevard and Airport Road in Colorado Springs.
Scott Brown, 34, was arrested treated for minor injuries, released from the hospital and arrested. He’s charged with attempted murder, aggravated robbery, attempted aggravated robbery, vehicular assault and numerous traffic violations.
The robbery happened at a pawn shop in the 1800 block of S. Academy Boulevard. Police say shots were fired during the robbery.
Two cars were involved in the crash. Police say one of those cars then hit a motorcycle.
The motorcyclist was taken to the hospital. Police said he suffered serious injuries but is in stable condition.
Powers was shut down for more than three hours.
