Police officer bitten by identity theft suspect

A Colorado Springs police officer was bitten during an arrest Saturday.

It happened at a Wells Fargo Bank on W. Colorado Avenue.

According to police, Angela Flummer, 32, was trying to open an account under a fake name. When officers tried to arrest her she reportedly bit the officer.

Flummer chomped down on the officer’s hand but the bite did not break the skin.

Flummer was taken to the hospital for a head injury before being arrested. She was charged with assault on a peace officer and identity theft.
