Driver hits pedestrian, arrested for DUI
A suspected drunk driver was arrested after he hit a pedestrian in Pueblo Sunday night.
The crash happened just after 10 p.m. in the 400 block of Abriendo Ave.
Police say Vance Vasquez, 20, hit a 68-year-old man while the man was crossing the street. The man was thrown a short distance.
The man suffered serious injuries and was taken to the hospital.
The three other people in the car were not hurt in the crash.
Vasquez was arrested for DUI.
The Pueblo Police Department would like to remind people to watch for oncoming traffic when crossing the street, especially at night, and to use crosswalks.
