Waldo Canyon Fire exhibit opens
An exhibit focusing on aspects of last summer’s Waldo Canyon Wildfire opened Saturday at the Pioneers Museum in downtown Colorado Springs.
The exhibit is titled “From The Ashes: The Waldo Canyon Fire.”
The exhibit includes samples of burned debris, recovered possessions, wildfire history and information about local climate, agencies involved in battling the fire, and how the community recovered and rebuilt.
A brief mention of the recent Black Forest Wildfire is part of the exhibit.
A museum spokesman said the exhibit likely will become a permanent addition, though it will change periodically with different attractions.
