Man arrested for robbery, pointing gun at victim

A broken car window leads to a nearly three hour wait for police but, eventually, an arrest.

It happened at an apartment complex on Airport Road near S. Academy Boulevard.

The victim called police about the broken window and missing items from the car. Police returned to the complex after someone pulled a gun on the victim.

On that second visit, police found two men in the hallway of the complex. They ran from officers and into an apartment. Police knocked on the door repeatedly but no one answered.

Police had to wait 2 and a half hours to get a warrant and get inside.

They pulled three men, one woman and two children from the apartment. Police said they found evidence of the robbery inside.

Reginald Hawthorne was arrested and charged with robbery.
