Housing vouchers for vets OK’d for Durango

Durango will get about $95,000 in federal grant money to find permanent housing for 15 homeless veterans.

The Durango Herald reported this week the money is part of a $1 million grant to the state from the Department of Housing and Urban Development.

Colorado Sen. Mark Udall, a Democrat, says the money will help about 200 veterans statewide.

Jennifer Lopez of the Colorado Housing Authority says she hopes the Durango housing vouchers will be available by late summer.
