Warrant reveals details of 9-year-old boy’s death
Court records show the Routt County woman who allegedly shot and killed her 9-year-old son was in the process of separating from her husband.
A search warrant obtained by The Steamboat Pilot & Today sheds light on what investigators think happened Wednesday at the home where Asher Lesyshen-Kirlan was found dead.
According to the warrant, Asher’s father called police around 3 a.m. and said his son had been shot but was breathing. Michael Kirlan said his wife was upstairs with a gun.
When police arrived, the boy was dead, shot in the chest.
His mother, Lisa Marie Lesyshen, was found unconscious with a gunshot wound. She was lying near shell casings and a revolver.
Lesyshen is currently under police guard at an undisclosed hospital.
