The “home of heroes” marks Memorial Day

Puebloans gathered at the veteran’s bridge Monday morning to honor America’s heroes.

The Pueblo Chieftain reported that the service on the riverwalk began at 10:00 with a tribute to our fallen service members.

The ceremony included a flyover by Doss Aviation, a wreath-laying by various veterans organizations, and a 21 gun salute by the Pueblo Veterans Ritual Team.

Pueblo is known as “America’s Home of Heroes.” The city hosts National Medal of Honor Day, and has been home to as many as four living Medal of Honor recipients.
