Fire at Briarhurst Manor contained to kitchen

Firefighters respond to a fire at the Briarhurst Manor in Manitou Springs.

The fire was contained to the kitchen.

Initial reports are that the fire started just before 5:30 p.m. Saturday.

The fire put two weddings on hold; no one was hurt.

The fire was confined to one of the ranges in the kitchen, and firefighters had to cut a small hole in the kitchen roof to release smoke.

There is no estimate as to how much damage has been done.
