Highway 24 rockslide west of Cave of the Winds

A rockslide closed one lane of westbound Highway 24 about a mile west of Cave of the Winds Thursday morning.

The rockslide happened shortly after 5:30 a.m. and crews from the Colorado Department of Transportation had the boulders cleared from the road and all lanes open by shortly after 8:00 a.m.

The westbound lanes were never officially closed but as crews removed the rocks both lanes were blocked for short periods of time on and off.
