Deadly wreck kills one person near Highway 24

A deadly wreck on Meadowbrook Pkwy., just outside Colorado Springs, killed one person Sunday night.

Colorado State Patrol says the driver of a white 1990 Nissan 240SX lost control and crashed into an unoccupied, parked car. After impact, the Nissan rotated clockwise and hopped a curb before finally coming to a stop.

The passenger in the Nissan died on scene. Troopers say the driver, 24-year-old Brian Clowe of Colorado Springs, suffered serious head injuries and was taken to the hospital. Troopers did not identify the passenger because next-of-kin has not been notified.

Troopers said neither Clowe nor his passenger were wearing seat belts.

Colorado State Patrol says alcohol and speed are considered factors in the crash. The crash remains under investigation.
