Woman accused of stabbing husband with scissors

A Colorado Springs woman was arrested Sunday evening and charged with stabbing her husband with a pair of scissors.

Police said that 61-year-old Jerolyn Hanenberg called police around 5:20 p.m. to report that she had just stabbed her husband. When police arrived to the home in the 2400 block of East San Rafael Street, they found her husband had been stabbed twice — once in the lower back and once in the abdomen.

He was taken to a hospital where he was treated for life-threatening injuries.

Hanenberg was taken into custody and is charged with attempted first-degree murder.
