UPDATE: Standoff called off, man caught elsewhere

A standoff has ended peacefully in Colorado Springs after police surrounded a home in the 600 block of Zion Drive. That’s near South Circle and Airport Road.

Officials said the man had barricaded himself inside the home Sunday afternoon. Police were working off a tip from the man’s children.

It turned out the unidentified man went out the backdoor before police surrounded the home.

He was arrested without incident near the MLK Bypass and Union Boulevard. Officials would not go into detail on what charges the man faces.

Police closed Tahoe Boulevard, Bryce Road and Zion Drive during the incident. They have since reopened.
