Springs teen dies in accident

A skate boarding accident killed a 13-year-old Colorado Springs boy Saturday.

It happened around 5:45 p.m. on Howard Avenue. Police were told by witnesses that the teen was not wearing a helmet, lost control of the skateboard and hit his head on the ground.

When police arrived they learned that the boy had been taken to the hospital in serious condition.

The boy later died.

He was not identified by police because of his age and other factors.
