Kids celebrate 3/14 in a unique way

Margaret Ambuul wowed the crowd at Corpus Christi Catholic School on Thursday. She was among the stars to recite Pi or 3.14 to more than 20 digits. She sung her way to 100 digits, got applause and grabbed her just dessert, literally. The kids who could recite more than the necessary digits got pie.

I know you are asking yourself, What is Pi? I remembered it was 3.14 but didn’t know the exact reason for it in math. Here’s what I found about this math constant. It is the ratio of a circle’s circumference to its diameter. This Pi digit reciting lesson has been going on for five years. From the look of things, there are decades more of this Pi and pie eating fun for everyone at the school.
