Deployed soldiers get special care package

Some KRDO, NewsChannel 13 employees were packing it up and shipping some special bits of home to troops who were deployed. Fort Carson military wife, Gerilynne Moore helped put it together with others from our station. She told me, “Normally a spouse will assemble things her husband is asking for and send it out in small packages. This will be by far the biggest package that I have ever been part of to send.”

Gerilynne asked us in the station to donate various items and the boxes were full. Gerilynne put it best about Southern Colorado, “I’ll tell you, of all the places we’ve lived in my husband’s army career, the amount of support we have received from the Colorado Springs community is overwhelming. There are times it touches my heart so deeply it’s all I can do not to cry.”
