Monkey escapes at Cheyenne Mountain Zoo

A howler monkey caused quite the scene when she escaped from her enclosure at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo Saturday.

Cheyenne Mountain Zoo spokeswoman, Jenny Hillard said Eva was able to squeeze through some mesh and crawled up to the roof of the monkey pavilion at about 2:15 p.m.

Zoo guests spotted Eva and notified zoo staff.

Hillard said zoo staff tried to coax Eva down from the roof, but after 30 minutes they climbed up to the roof and caught Eva with nets.

Eva was not hurt and neither were any of the zoo guests.
