Hiring hundreds to destroy chemical weapons
Hundreds of jobs are coming to Pueblo.
Throughout the year, 300 to 400 hundred employees will be hired to work at the Pueblo Chemical Agent-Destruction Pilot Plant. Employees will be trained how to destroy 2,611 tons of mustard agent stored in projectiles and mortar rounds at the U.S. Army Pueblo Chemical Depot.
“2013 is big for hiring because we’re gonna need people to operate the plant. We’re gonna need startup specialists and munition handlers, laboratory personnel. People are gonna make sure that the facility is running properly,” said Sandy Romero with the Pueblo Chemical Stockpile Outreach Office.
