Man arrested for possession of burglary tools, drugs

A man was arrested after police found drugs and burglary tools in his backpack.

Police were patrolling the area of E. Uintah St. and McArthur Ave. around 2:30 Saturday morning where several cars had been burglarized earlier in the day.

Police spotted a suspicious man at that time. When police approached him, he immediately dropped a hatchet. Police then searched his backpack and found a crowbar, a large framing hammer, a glass pipe and a small bag of methamphetamine.

Justin Takell, 32, was arrested. He faces charges of Possession of Burglary Tools, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of Schedule II Controlled Substance.
