Thousands lose power after electrical pole fires

Two separate power outages struck the Pueblo area within 15 minutes of each other around 1:30 Thursday morning. About 18,000 homes were without power when the outages initially happened.

One was Downtown and the other up north along Highway 47.

Black Hills Energy tells us that both were caused by electrical pole fires.

As of 9 a.m. Thursday about 1,000 customers were still waiting on power to be restored.
