Pueblo man charged with kidnapping his wife

Pueblo Police Department officers arrested a man Wednesday accused of assaulting and kidnapping his wife.

Police started looking for the suspect on Wednesday morning after witnesses reported seeing a man grab a woman and put her in the front passenger seat of his van before driving away. The incident happened around 8:50 a.m. in front of South High School.

On Wednesday afternoon, police announced they arrested 34-year-old Justin Hecker. Officers said that Hecker and his wife were fighting when she exited the vehicle and started walking. Hecker followed her in the van, police said. He eventually got out of the vehicle, assaulted his wife and forced her into the van, police said.

Hecker is charged with second degree kidnapping, third degree assault and domestic violence.
