Teen charged with murders will be tried as adult

Macyo January is charged as an adult for the deaths of a Fort Carson Soldier and his pregnant wife. The charges were filed before a judge in court Wednesday afternoon.

The 17 year old is charged with killing David and Whitney Dunlap. Police said January was burglarizing the couple’s home when they returned, and he shot them.

January sat slumped over in court with his eyes downcast while the attorneys and judge discussed his case. He is facing a total of 23 counts that include murder, burglary, theft, and other crimes of violence.

January will be back in court later this month.
