Kara Nichols Missing For 3 Months, Family Still Hopeful

A Colorado Springs teenager has been missing for three months, and investigators have no new leads as to were she is, but her family is not giving up hope.

“Nothing of Kara’s has been found, not even her cell phone, no evidence that she met her demise,” said Michelle Bart, a Nichols family spokesperson.

Kara Nichols, 19, was last seen on October 9, 2012 supposedly headed to Denver for a job interview. The aspiring model did not have a car, so a brunette woman gave her a ride. That woman has not been identified.

Kara’s family believes human trafficking may have played a role in her disappearance, but there is currently no proof this is what happened. Investigators with the El Paso Sheriff’s Office are looking into the possibility.

The Sheriff’s Office said Kara’s disappearance is suspicious because she used to be very active on the Internet and her cellphone and all that activity has stopped. The cellphone has not been found. Also, Kara left her purse and nearly $300.00 in cash at her apartment.

Anyone with information on Kara Nichols’ whereabouts is asked to call the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office at (719)390-5555. People with information can also send an e-mail to findkaranichols@gmail.com.
