Police: Attempted kidnapping in Pueblo

Pueblo Police are investigating an alleged attempted kidnapping that happened on Monday evening in the 2400 block of West Northern Avenue.

Police say that a woman called police to say she had been followed by four men in a blue sedan as she walked to her friend’s house around 5:30 p.m.

The woman told police she was walking westbound on Northern Ave. from Bessemer Park when a blue four-door sedan pulled up next to her. The four men in the car began yelling at her. The woman said she did not know the men so she ignored them and continued walking.

The victim told police that the men started to yell louder and became angry. The woman took out her phone and acted like she was talking to someone in hopes that the men would leave, police said.

When the woman reached the intersection of Euclid Avenue and Northern Avenue, the car sped up behind her and slammed on the brakes. One of the men got out of the car, grabbed her from behind and tried to drag her to the car, police said. The victim was able to break free and ran to the nearby Ace Cash where she called police.

The woman describes the men as being white, in their mid-20s, having muscular builds and covered in tattoos. The sedan is described as a newer-model Ford. The woman could not make out the tattoos but said the driver had “Bessemer” tattooed on the right side of his neck.

Police have not made any arrests. The victim was not injured during the incident. If you have any information about this crime, call Pueblo Police at 719-553-2538.
