Teller County authorities bust counterfeit money crime ring

The Teller County Sheriff’s Office has arrested four people accused of making counterfeit twenty dollar bills.

On Monday morning, authorities identified their first suspect in the crime: Monica Paradise. Paradise was arrested and a search warrant was granted for a Woodland Park residence. Investigators found counterfeit money and equipment used to make that money.

The Sheriff’s Office was able to identify three other suspects and executed another search warrant at a Colorado Springs home. At that home, investigators found a vehicle and a trailer that was reported stolen. They also found illegal drugs.

Brian Joe, Austin Gulla and David Bowers join Paradise in the Teller County Jail.

The case is still under investigation.
