Shots fired during foot chase

Shots were fired during a foot chase in downtown Colorado Springs Wednesday night.

No one was hit by the gunfire.

Several streets in the area of Weber and St. Vrain were closed while police investigated.

Police say the incident started as a possible burglary in progress call.

When police arrived to investigate, two people started running.

Police chased the suspects on foot. It’s believed one of the suspects fired two shots during the chase.

A police officer and one of the suspects got into a physical fight. They were taken to the hospital to be checked out.

The second suspect was detained for questioning.
