Suspect beats 2 employees in attempted robbery

Two employees were injured during an overnight attempted robbery at a 7-Eleven off Union Blvd. and Platte Ave. around 3:30 Saturday morning.

Police say the suspect entered the store demanding cash. When the cashier refused, the suspect jumped over the counter and started beating the man.

A second employee got involved and was also hit.

Both employees suffered only minor injuries.

The suspect got away in a white van.
