Pueblo police warn of phone scam

The Pueblo Police Department wants citizens to be aware of a phone scam that has
effected individuals locally and nationwide.

The call is being made by a company identifying themselves as US Cash Advance in
California with a phone number of 323-395-2825. They may also use the name of Pay Day Loans, police said. In the scam call, a man says his name is Manuel and tells people they issued a loan to the caller and that they never received a payment.

“Manuel” then gets irate with the caller and threatens them with federal agents and arrest.

A Google search of the number brings up numerous comments about the number
calling them in the same fashion.

Citizens are reminded to ask questions and get as much information as possible.
Usually, the callers get nervous and hang up.

If you have an unsure feeling, trust your instincts. If you can’t get their information and verify that they are a legitimate business, they probably aren’t. As a reminder, never give out your personal information, police said.
