Fountain convenience store robbed

Police in Fountain are searching for the suspect in an armed robbery Thursday evening.

The crime happened around 9:30 p.m. at the Loaf N’ Jug at 7055 Alegre Circle.

Police say the suspect pointed a semi-automatic pistol at the clerk’s face. The clerk was not injured.

The suspect is described as a heavyset black man who was wearing a puffy black coat.

The suspect got away with cash.

He may have escaped in a silver car. The vehicle was last seen driving northbound on Highway 85/87.
