Green Mountain Falls arson suspect pleads guilty

A man accused of setting the Green Mountain Falls town hall on fire in February pleaded guilty Thursday to 1st degree arson.

Kyle Lawrence faces a sentence of 6 to 10 years in the Department of Corrections. His sentencing hearing is scheduled for January 22.

A second man convicted of the crime, 21-year-old Zachariah Shaffer, was sentenced earlier this month to 12 years in prison.

The town hall was completely destroyed in the flames. Authorities say Lawrence was badly burned while committing the crime.
