Springs police investigate series of crimes Tuesday night

Two vehicles were stolen, and two businesses were robbed during three incidents in Colorado Springs Tuesday night.

The first crime happened at a 7-Eleven in the 1900 block of east Fountain Boulevard.

Police say a woman was putting gas in her Jeep when two hooded men walked up. One of them pointed a rifle at her, and demanded her keys.

The stolen vehicle is described as a light or medium colored Brown Jeep GrandCherokee.

During that investigation, another call for help came in.

Police responded to a report of an armed robbery at a Papa Murphy’s restaurant in the 1700 block of Dublin Boulevard.

The suspect had a gun and got away with cash.

He’s described as a black man between 20 and 30 years old. He had a medium to heavy build and was wearing dark jeans and a black wig.

Minutes later another robbery was reported. This time at the Family Dollar Store in the 4400 block of Edison Drive.

In that case the suspect had a gun. He stole cash from the store, and got away by stealing a Jeep Cherokee. The vehicle is black with license plate number845XCU.

The suspect in that robbery is described as Hispanic. He’s in his 40’s and was wearing a black bandana.
