Smoldering trash fire at Waste Management facility

Firefighters battled a smoldering trash fire at a Waste Management facility just north of I-25 and Circle Drive Saturday morning.

Firefighters were called around 5:00 a.m. to the area because there was smoke in the air.

Authorities say there were no flames.

The facility is strictly an area for residents to drop off household trash. There is no hazardous waste there.

There are no offices at the facility, so nobody was in danger.

The cause of the fire is unknown.
