Wanted teen arrested after chase in Colo. Springs

A teen wanted on a felony warrant that involved a dangerous weapon was taken into custody in Colorado Springs after a short chase.

Police say the wanted 17-year-old was spotted in the 400 block of East Bijou Street around noon on Tuesday. The teen ran through an alley to avoid being arrested, police said.

Officers established containment and a K9 officer began the search. The suspect was located by the canine in a nearby shed.

The teen, who was not identified, was taken into custody and treated for minor injuries at Memorial Hospital before being taken to Spring Creek Juvenile Detention Center.
