EPC Sheriff’s Office arrest attempted carjacking suspect

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office have made an arrest in an attempted car jacking case.

The man was caught with a handgun at Old Glory Road and Fontaine Boulevard after a short search.

That suspect is also accused of hitting several cars on Marksheffel Road between Bradley Road and Fontaine Boulevard Saturday night. At least three drivers called the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office about being hit by the fleeing suspect.

Initially authorities thought they may have the suspect caught in a neighborhood off of Fontaine but that proved not to be true.

No injuries were reported due to the incident.

A spokesman for the El Paso County Sheriff’s office said the attempted car jacking happened Saturday morning when the man tried to steal a tow truck at Bradley Road and Marksheffel.
