School sends notice about possible child luring incident

Pueblo County School District 70 sent out an automated message to parents on Friday, warning them of a possible child luring incident.

Our news partners at the Pueblo Chieftain report that a 14-year-old girl was walking home from school Thursday when she was approached by a man in a red van. She was walking behind Pueblo West Elementary School, the Chieftain reports.

The girl reported to the school that the man asked her if she wanted a ride home. There was a boy in the van with the man, the girl said. The girl told him “no” and walked away.

D-70 says they sent a notice to parents only as a precaution.
