3 hurt, 1 arrested after crash on S. Nevada

A crash on S. Nevada Ave blocked lanes for several hours on Friday evening and sent three people to the hospital.

The crash happened just before 5 p.m. Friday. Police say the driver of a sedan was headed northbound on Nevada Ave at the I-25 Frontage Road when he suddenly made an aggressive left turn across two other lanes of traffic.

The sedan hit a vehicle in the right through lane and hit a bridge guardrail, preventing the vehicle from going into the river below.

Police tell KRDO NewsChannel 13 that three people were sent to the hospital, and at least one of them had serious injuries.

The driver of the sedan, 29-year-old Jerome Mead, was arrested for Vehicular Assault. Police say that alcohol and drugs are considered factors in this crash.

The intersection of S. Nevada at I-25 is clear as of 9 p.m.
