Paul Ryan promises not to gut our military

Vice Presidential Candidate Paul Ryan on Sunday appealed to the military crowd in Colorado Springs.

“We are not going to gut our military … you honor us and we will honor you,” said Ryan.

He spoke before about 1,000 people inside the Colorado Jet Center.

He made reference to soldiers at Ft. Carson, cadets at the Air Force Academy and airman at both Peterson and Schriever Air Force Bases.

Ryan made a big push to the crowd about the importance of winning Colorado’s electoral votes.

“A little more than two weeks, you’ll look back at this moment you’ll know we did what we needed to do,” said Ryan.

His voice was noticeably horse and he only spoke for about 12 minutes.

Ryan also touted their plans to put more Americans back to work and balance the budget.

The VP Candidate also spent some time bashing Barack Obama’s economic recovery efforts.

“Since he cannot run on his record, he is going to try and distract you, he is going to try and distort and try and win by default and we’re not going to fall for it are we?” asked Ryan.

Ryan also made a point to talk about the times he and his family have spent in Colorado on vacation.
