Man killed in rollover crash

A man is dead after a crash Sunday morning on U.S. 285 just South of Saguache.

Colorado State troopers said the man was driving his Dodge Ram pickup headed north on U.S. 285 at about 7:30 a.m. Sunday when he drifted off the road, hit a post and rolled his pickup.

The 24-year-old man was partially ejected from his pickup and died at the scene of the crash, officials said. A spokesman with the state patrol said the man is from Fort Luptin, but they are not releasing his name until his family is notified. Investigators said he was not wearinghis seat belt. He was the only person inside the pickup at the time of the crash.

Investigators said they are still looking into the cause of the accident. They do not believe that alcohol or drugs played a role in this crash.

U.S. 285 was closed in both directions for about two hours while crews cleaned up and investigated the accident.
