AmeriCorps Members Help Restore Land at Flying W Ranch
About 150 AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps members spent Friday working on erosion control and repairing fire damage at the Flying W Ranch.
The group cut logs, dug trenches, mulched and reseeded the land. Because of the fire, the area is at risk of erosion and mudslides, which could impact the municipal water supply. Volunteers hope their efforts will help reduce the impact of those risks.
Another group of about 150 AmeriCorps NCCC members volunteered at the High Park burn zone.
