Springs police investigate shooting

Colorado Springs police are investigating a shooting at a motel on South Nevada Thursday.

Police say a woman called dispatch from New Mexico to report the shooting. She said a man called her from the motel to tell her he had been shot. When police arrived at the motel they found a person registered with the name given by the caller.

A 32-year-old man was located in one of the rooms with a gunshot wound to his leg. The man was taken to Memorial Hospital. Because of his medical condition, police are not exactly sure how he was shot.
